Asha Collins
(she/her/hers/elle)
Program Facilitator
Asha is a passionate educator with a specialization in primary/junior French immersion education. Asha considers herself a life-long learner and integrates diversity, equity, and inclusion in all facets of her work, both in and outside of the classroom setting. As a settler, and an educator who works in the colonial structure of the education system, Asha has been focussing on learning more about Indigenous Education, Indigenous Pedagogy, and how to confront anti-Indigenous racism.
Asha holds a degree in International Studies from Glendon Campus, York University, and a Master of Teaching from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. Her experiences in both the programs inform her teaching approach, considering the intersectionality of her students and peers, and striving to provide environments that promote growth-mindset and care.
Outside of education, Asha loves to read, bake, and to learn more about her family history through storytelling.
